Telugu Desam Party supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu had emerged as a proven liar in politics. He is always tied-up in forging alliance with one party or the other for his political advantage.
While it is justified in politics to have alliance, he brands his rivals as the opportunists. With the media in the State falling at his feet all through, just for the caste advantage, he goes on branding the rivals as opportunists.
Chandrababu was with the Bharatiya Janata Party for four-and-a-half years in alliance. He was part of the BJP government at the Centre and had made the BJP part of his government in the State. They sailed together till April this year. When he was with the BJP, he had accused the rivals – the YSR Congress – of having a hidden understanding with the Congress. He had given a call to the people to defeat the Congress and the YSR Congress.
Now, four-and-a-half years later and six months before the next election, he ran for the Congress cover. He now accuses the rivals of having alliance with the BJP. Without having a second thought on what people think, Chandrababu attributes his opportunistic politics to the rivals. He now brands the YSR Congress of having understanding with the BJP against the interests of the State.
But, when one goes back to the past seriously analysing the political alliances, it is Chandrababu who had sailed with other parties and not the YSR Congress or the Telangana Rastra Samithi in the neighbouring State. He had aligned with the BJP and is now with the Congress, all for his political advantage. No media questions him when he talks about the rivals, as the media is paid heavily for backing him.
It was Chandrababu who had given up the claim of the Special Category Status to the State when he sailed with the BJP. He had welcomed the special package offered by the BJP and had even honoured the BJP leaders. He had made the Assembly to praise the BJP leaders for offering the special package to the State. That was the history and it all happened when the YSR Congress, the Congress, Jana Sena and the Left parties were fighting for the special category status.
Now, four-and-a-half years later, Chandrababu talks about the special category status to the State and accuses other parties of compromising on it with the BJP. This is what a known opportunist is branding others as opportunists. People are watching Mr. Naidu. There is social media now active to tell the truth.
