It was almost three decades that Telugu Desam Party supremo and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu left the Congress and had been fighting against this century-old national party. In his initial days, he used to admit that 30 per cent of his blood as Congress DNA.
Now, after three decades, he is seen happy in the presence of the Congress leaders during his protest in Delhi on Monday. The leaders have showered praises on him. The Congress leaders too have competed with each other to recognise the leadership qualities of Chandrababu Naidu. Some of them have recalled their friendship as Youth Congress leaders.
Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jairam Ramesh, Digvijay Singh, Kamal Nath and many others from the Congress, who have been criticising Chandrababu Naidu for all these years, had high appreciation for his leadership. In the run to make Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister, these leaders appeared to be pleasing Chandrababu Naidu. They have conveniently forgot that the TDP had been an anti-Congress party from its inception.
Chandrababu Naidu too seems to have forget that he belonged to the TDP, a party that was formed to finish the Congress. He was seen more as a Congress leader who had returned to the party after 30 years. The Congress blood count in him too seems to have gone up from 30 per cent 90 per cent. He had all praise for the Congress leaders.
Chandrababu Naidu who held Nava Nirmana Deeksha for three successful years blaming the Congress for bifurcation forgot the past and was seen praising them for the AP Reorganisation Act 2014 that they have drafted it. He held Jairam Ramesh high for the Act where AP had greater advantage. Shockingly, he had blamed these Congress leaders for the Act for all these years. He blamed them for bringing the Bill to AP in 2013 in a military aircraft. He blamed them for the unjust bifurcation where assets were distributed between the two Telugu States on the basis of where it is as it is, and liabilities were distributed on the basis of population.
He forgot these facts and suddenly found his Congress roots and had all praise for them. In the days to come, no wonder if Chandrababu Naidu showers praises on the Congress for the bifurcation! That is Chandrababu Naidu, a political chameleon changing colours to suit his politics.
