For the first time in the history of Sabarimala Temple, two women in the age group of 10-50 years entered the Lord Ayyappa Swamy’s Temple in Sabarimala early this morning.
After the Supreme Court Verdict on gender discrimination regarding this issue, temple management allowed women to enter the shrine of the temple.
Bindhu from Kozhikode and Kanaka Durga from Malappuram entered through a staffed gate on the northern side around 4 AM and. Policemen in the plainclothes escorted them to the shrine.
After this incident, the Kerala police department gave separate police protection for the houses of Bindhu and Kanakadurga.
