Vijay Deverakonda didn’t expect it. ‘What The F’, the duet from ‘Geetha Govindam’, was envisioned to be a youth anthem. It turned out to be a damp squib.
The very title of the song and its subject have revolted the listeners. After receiving bad reviews, the makers of the film rightly withdrew the number within hours. As per a statement issued by lyricist Sri Mani, its lyrics have unwittingly hurt the sentiments of sections of audiences.
It’s believed by many that Vijay Deverakonda went in for the mediocre number with over-confidence. His ‘Arjun Reddy’ hangover is too strong. He seems to have believed that his mere presence and his voice will do some magic. But the backlash was severe and rightly so. The actor must have learned his lessons.
