Naidu gets Ashok Babu, a gain or loss?

AP NGOs leader P Ashok Babu had finally retired from the government service. Though he had some more time to retire officially, he took the voluntary retirement the other day and freed himself from the government service. This retirement was necessitated as he is planning to get elected to the State Legislative Council, elections for which are due in February. He would soon be the MLC of the TDP and that is official now. He would soon join the ruling Telugu Desam Party in a day or two to begin his political career.

Ashok Babu rose to fame during the bifurcation of the State in 2013. He spearheaded the Samaikyandhra movement opposing the bifurcation and not giving any scope for the people to fight for the State, if the bifurcation was inevitable. He had the support of the then chief minister N Kirankumar Reddy, who opposed the bifurcation and did not give any chance for the Seemandhra people to ask what they want for the region in bifurcation.

Later, when the State was bifurcated and Chandrababu Naidu became the chief minister, the APNGO leader moved closed to the government and the TDP. He had been active in both the government and political activities of Chandrababu Naidu. He stood firm behind Chandrababu Naidu in the last four-and-a-half years and played key role in the Nava Nirmana Deeksha that the Chief Minister had been holding on June 2 every year against the bifurcation. Though the Nava Nirmana Deeksha was held with the government money, Chandrababu Naidu used it for his political advantage targeting the Congress to please the BJP leadership.

Now, after four years, Chandrababu Naidu started holding Dharma Porata Deeksha in all the districts to blame BJP for the non-implementation of the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act 2014 and the special category status. He is now holding the BJP completely responsible for the denial of the special category status and Ashok Babu is always with Chandrababu Naidu in this political fight.

However, the big question is that will people who have accepted Ashok Babu as the leader, accept him on the same line once he joins the ruling TDP.
