“Gabbar Singh” director Harish Shankar and Mega Prince Varun Tej’s Valmiki lands into controversy within a day of its title poster launch.
Sai Prasad, leader of Valmiki Association claims that the title logo of Valmiki insulted the Valmiki Maharshi and the sentiments of their community people. He also threated that they will halt the release if they won’t change the title. The main problem is makers have used a gun symbol to portray the Valmiki title which projects Valmiki community as an anti-social element.
Sai Prasad maintained that they have no objection what-so-ever if such title was used for a devotional flick. At the same time, He pledged to fight against any attempt to insult Maharshi by using his name for commercial subjects.
Regarding the movie, Some are saying that Valmiki is a remake of Tamil Super hit Jigarthanda and Varun is playing a negative role. Some are hinting that Harish Shankar penned a different version projecting Varun into a super mass hero. However, Harish didn’t announce any details regarding this. Devi Sri Prasad will score music.
