Telangana chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao is planning for a national alternative to the Congress-led UPA and BJP-led NDA ahead of the next general elections. KCR had already hinted at uniting the regional parties as the third alternative. He plans to tour the States along with MIM leaders helping him at the national level.
The MIM’s support would mean that KCR is planning to target the Muslim voters across the country are feeling insecure now in the BJP government at the Centre. There is also no political alternative for them Muslims in the country, though they are partially aligned with the Congress-led UPA. This is here that the TRS chief is planning to get some space for his ambition position at the national level.
Though TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has better access to the national leaders and KCR has no such acceptance, his knowledge in Urdu and Hindi is an advantage for him to reach out to the people. Once he gets access to the people, the leaders would be forced to accept him and begin aligning with him. The presence of MIM leaders too is seen as an added advantage for KCR to get into the Muslims and other Hindi-speaking people in the northern states.
His acceptance by the people that way would also help him influence the media with his Hindi and Urdu knowledge. This is missing for Chandrababu Naidu who is known for his broken English which keeps him low when he speaks to the media. Forty years in politics and almost 15 years in office as Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu could not improve his English. Though he has been playing key role in the national politics for all these years, he could not even pick up Hindi to reach out to the masses.
The failure or weakness of Chandrababu Naidu in picking up languages is an advantage KCR at the national politics. The absence of a platform for the Muslims is also stands on the side of KCR, once he begins his mission for the national politics.
